Thunderbird Park on Tamborine Mountain

A magnificent mountain resort ideal for day trips, family holidays and everything in between.

Thunderbird Park is a geologically rich oasis with an abundance of native wildlife, stretching over 112 hectares on Tamborine Mountain, Queensland.

Originating from the Mount Warning volcanic eruption 22 million years ago, Mount Tamborine is located along the northern edge of the ancient caldera and aptly represents the 'Green behind the Gold' within the Gold Coast hinterland.

Part of the eclectically diverse Scenic Rim region of Queensland, Thunderbird Park lies adjacent to the Cedar Creek section of Tamborine National Park with Cedar Creek cascading through the property down to Cedar Creek Falls. These beautiful falls are a sight to behold and are only a leisurely 10minute bush walk from Thunderbird Park.

"Wow! This was without a doubt a 5 star experience. The treetop challenge was a great time and it really brought on a sweat. Not the bad kind. More like the kind you get from when you make love. A sweat you enjoy. If you aren't at least a little bit athletic, you would not enjoy this as much as I did. Worth a check if you are visiting and are a thrill seeker. Oh, and the staff were lovely."

"What an amazing place! Came here by chance after seeing a brochure and will definitely be back. Not just for people camping or staying here, the park is home to loads of open space and creeks as well as the treetop challenge, putt putt, a cafe (great coffee, thanks Paige!), and gemstone challenge. Showers were so nice and hot a bit of luxury camping. We booked in at a few extra activities and we really enjoyed Laser Skirmish. We have been here several times with our kids to do the Crystal Mining and Thunder Egg Fossicking. We found lots of Thunder Eggs. We even found a thunder egg with extensive crystallisation on it. This place has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are also very accommodating. I will definitely be returning to try out some of the other activities.

Great day out. Did a coupe of the activities. The high ropes course was amazing. Had lunch after a big day at the restaurant onsite which was really nice. The food and service were both on point. Steak was AWESOME!
